The Primate of the Synod of Bishops sends namesday greetings to the Head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church

On Saturday, 25 June, 2022, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church celebrated the patron’s feast day of its Primate, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onouphry of Kiev and All Ukraine. On that day, and also on the following Sunday, Divine services were performed at the Cathedral of the Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia in Munich by clergymen of both churches. This cathedral was consecrated in 2017 jointly by the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad at the time, the late Metropolitan Hilarion, and Metropolitan Onouphry. The latter was commemorated during the services, to whom Many Years was sung. A teleconference was held with him later in the day, when he was personally congratulated. His Eminence Metropolitan Mark of Berlin and Germany, who was en route to Holy Protection Cathedral in Berlin, sent His Beatitude a personal message:

Your Beatitude, Dear in the Lord Vladyka:

I send heartfelt greetings to you on the feast day of your heavenly patron and wish you all the blessings he beseeches for you of the All-Merciful Lord. First of all I wish you robust health, wisdom, love and patience in these difficult times for the Church. I regret that I cannot be with you on this day along with your fellow pastors, praying together at the altar. I hope that this can take place in the near future. Of course, I commemorated you during Divine Liturgy at our monastery today.

I submit my unworthiness along with my flock to your Primatial prayers, and remain in perpetual love in the Lord.
