The Young Pilgrims of the Russian Church Abroad
Immerse Themselves In the Jordan River (Photo-report)
On July 13, 2007, the Synaxis of the Twelve Apostles, the pilgrims of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, headed by His Grace Bishop Peter of Cleveland, prayed during the great consecration of the waters of the Jordan River, after which all the pilgrims immersed themselves in the river as they sang the troparion to the Epiphany of the Lord.
Later that day, the pilgrims visited St Peter Monastery in Jaffa and the tomb of Holy Great Martyr George in Lydda. Returning to Jerusalem, the pilgrims visited Holy Trinity Cathedral and the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission of the Moscow Patriarchate. That evening, Protopriest Gabriel Makarov and Priest Serafim Gan held a discussion with the young pilgrims.
