On the first Sunday of Great Lent, Archbishop Kyrill of San Francisco and Western America celebrates Divine Liturgy and performs the Rite of the Triumph of Orthodoxy in San Francisco

On March 1, 2026, on the First Sunday of Great Lent, His Eminence Archbishop Kyrill of San Francisco and Western America celebrated the Divine Liturgy of St Basil the Great and the Rite of the Triumph of Orthodoxy at the Cathedral of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow.”

The clergy concelebration was led by Archpriest Peter Perekrestov. The liturgical hymns were chanted by the Cathedral Choir under the direction of Vladimir Krassovsky.

Participating in the Rite of the Triumph of Orthodoxy were His Grace Bishop Theodosius of Manhattan and His Grace Bishop James of Sonora, together with the clergy of the diocese.
