A new church will be built in Queensland, Australia

On Saturday, 11 February, 2023, the parish of St. Xenia the Blessed of St Petersburg in Tweed Heads, Australia, celebrated its feast day. The house, outfitted to serve as a church, could not accommodate the never-before-seen number of worshipers, many of whom stood in the streets, silently participating in divine services and listening to the singing of the church choir.

His Grace Bishop George of Sydney, Australia and New Zealand officiated at divine services along with the Orthodox clergy of Queensland and the Gold Coast. Priest Alexander Paramonov then invited the faithful to a restaurant near the site where a new brick church is to be built.
