A cleric of the Russian Church Abroad visits a long-time friend and clergyman of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia

On the Eighth Sunday after Pentecost, while on a private visit to the Czech Republic, Archpriest Victor Boldewskul, Rector of Epiphany of the Lord Russian Orthodox Church in Boston, MA, participated in Divine Liturgy with the Parish of Christ the Savior in the city of Brno. The local rector, Archpriest Josef Feisak, is a long-time fervent admirer of Metropolitan Laurus of blessed memory and the brethren of Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY.

At the end of the service, Fr Josef told the 300 parishioners in attendance that he has known Fr Victor for over 30 years both from his own trips to Holy Trinity Monastery, as well as from the trip made to Czechia in 1991 by Archimandrite Sergy (Romberg) of blessed memory, a resident of that monastery and teacher at its seminary, whom Fr Victor, still a seminarian, accompanied. This visit was therefore particularly joyful and fraternal, especially since they concelebrated Divine Liturgy and partook of the Holy Gifts together.

In response, Fr Victor thanked the rector and his large parish community for the opportunity to join them in their Eucharistic feast, offered a touching compliment to their rector for his pastoral love and wisdom, wishing them abundant spiritual strength for carrying their own life’s cross.
