Bishop Irenei of London and Western Europe leads pilgrims to pray at the Tomb of the Mother of God in Gethsemane

On Wednesday, August 3, 2022, pilgrims from the Western European and German dioceses attended Divine Liturgy at the tomb of the Virgin Mary in the Garden of Gethsemane. His Grace Bishop Irenei of London and Western Europe concelebrated at the service led by the Greek Metropolitan Joachim of Helenopolis. The cleric of the monastery, Archimandrite Meletius, Archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky), Chief of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, concelebrated together with the pilgrims Fr Peter Sturm, Fr Sergiy Voinkov and Deacon Andrei Borisas.

Following Liturgy, the pilgrims went to the Garden of Gethsemane and then to the monastery of St Mary Magdalene, where they were met the Abbess, Mother Elisabeth (Smelic).
