Metropolitan Antony of Borispol and Brovary sends a letter of gratitude to Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad
The Chancery of the Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia in New York received a letter of thanks addressed to its First Hierarch, His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York, from His Eminence Metropolitan Antony of Borispol and Brovary, Chancellor of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, with the following text:
"Your Eminence, Dear Vladyka!
“In these saving days of Great Lent, allow me to express to You, your clergy, monastics and laity of the Russian Church Abroad our acknowledgement and special gratitude for your brotherly prayers and your wish to assist the Ukrainian people and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the difficult times that have befallen us.
“May the Lord reward you a hundredfold. We ask that you continue to lift your prayers before the holy icons of the Russian Church Abroad for us and our Holy Church. We believe that through your prayers the bloodletting will come to an end in our much-suffering Ukrainian land and that peace would reign once again.
“In response to your letter of ¹ 15/02/22 of 2 March, 2022, with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onouphry of Kiev and All Ukraine, in view of the burdensome humanitarian and material situation in Ukraine caused by military actions, we respectfully report that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has the opportunity to receive both humanitarian and material aid…
“We offer contact information for the responsible persons in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church who receive such aid, which were already given to Metropolitan Mark of Berlin and Germany, who is receiving refugees in Europe, and the Fund for Assistance to the Russian Church Abroad, who are making collections for the refugees and displaced persons.”
