NEW YORK: September 10, 2021
The Head of the Antiochian Orthodox Church in North America visits the Synodal Residence of the Primate of the Russian Church Abroad

On Thursday, September 9, 2021, the feast day of St Pimen the Great, His Eminence Metropolitan Joseph of New York (Antiochian Orthodox Church), and his delegation visited the Synodal residence of His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia. He was warmly greeted by Metropolitan Hilarion and His Grace Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan. After venerating the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God "of the Sign,” the Hodigitria of the Russian diaspora, Metropolitan Joseph and his group venerated other holy relics of the Synodal Cathedral of Our Lady “of the Sign” and learned about the rich history of the Synodal residence and its life today.

The visitors then proceeded to the private residence of Metropolitan Hilarion, where the archpastors and the attending clergymen discussed inter-Orthodox service, missionary work and youth ministry.

The meeting of the archpastors and clergymen continued then in the refectory hall in a gregarious atmosphere. As they departed, Metropolitan Hilarion and Metropolitan Joseph exchanged gifts, expressing the hope for future fraternal meetings, more frequent joint divine services and the strengthening of cooperation in the areas they discussed of serving the Church of Christ.
