The 2020-2021 school year at Bethany Orthodox School for Girls has successfully ended. Due to coronavirus shutdowns, quarantines and political strife, this year was especially difficult. Thanks to the perseverance and hard work of the administration and teachers, the school was able to complete the prescribed programs for all classes, one of the few schools in Palestine able to do so. Graduation exercises for 8 graduates took place earlier in May. On Saturday May 29, 40 girls of the kindergarten classes received their “Tamhidi Diplomas” and graduated to the first grade. Proud parents, teachers as well as the Head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, Archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky) attended the graduation program. The graduates sang songs, danced and recited poetry on stage at the school auditorium. Afterward the school principal, Mother Maria (Wall) personally handed the diploma to each student as their name was called out by their teacher. After summer vacation all the new first graders are eagerly awaiting classes to start in September. missionrocor.ru
