The Triumph of Orthodoxy at Holy Virgin Protection Cathedral

On the feast day of the Triumph of Orthodoxy, His Eminence Archbishop Peter of Chicago and Mid-America presided at the Divine Services at the diocesan Cathedral of the Protection of the Mother of God in Des Plaines, IL. At the Divine Liturgy Hieromonk Nektary (Merry) was elevated to Igumen and Priest Daniel Marshall was elevated to Archpriest. Deacon Nicholas Olsen was ordained priest for service at All Saints of North America parish in DeQueen, Arkansas. Following the Divine Liturgy Archbishop Peter led the Rite of Orthodoxy, which is served only by ruling hierarchs in their diocesan cathedrals on this first Sunday of the Great Fast. We congratulate all on the feast of the Triumph of Orthodoxy, as well as Igumen Nektary, Archpriest Daniel, and the newly-ordained Priest Nicholas.
