The clergy and parishioners of the San Francisco Cathedral receive a letter of thanks from the Maximovitch family
From the Editor: On the feast of the Dormition of the Most-Holy Mother of God, the clergy and parishioners of the Cathedral of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow" in San Francisco, CA, received a touching message from relatives of St John of Shanghai and San Francisco:
Dear and respected Holy Virgin Community of San Francisco, dear and respected Archpriest Peter Perekrestov and Priest Sergei Kiryukhin,
With warmth we write these brief words to thank you for your YouTube broadcasts of the Liturgies from the Holy Virgin Cathedral of San Francisco.
It is with great devotion that our whole family watches the Liturgies and Molebens that you celebrate with great faith. Thanks to what you have done, in the present Pandemic situation that affects the whole world, we have maintained our participation in all the Liturgies as if we were present.
We want to say thank you for your dedication and for this great gift that enabled us to celebrate Easter, to be part of the Divine Liturgies, and to participate in the Molebens before the incorrupt relics of Saint John, Archbishop of Shanghai and Saint Francisco.
I am the grandson of Konstantin Maximovitch (son of Boris and Glafira), St. John’s brother. My family now lives in Panama, my mother Tatiana (St John’s niece) and brother are still in Venezuela. Thus, your service broadcasts are watched in both these countries. We keep faith in God and honor all His saints, praying a lot to our dear Vladika John for protection, healing and being on the right path. When we see the livestream of the Moleben before his relics, we feel both closer to him and his blessing, which accompany’s us and helps us in the difficult time the whole world is going through.
God bless you.
John Ioann Wattley Maximovitch
