MOSCOW: May 6, 2020
Metropolitan Antony of Korsun and Western Europe expresses the gratitude of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia to the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad for his condolences on the death of Protopriest Alexander Ageikin

To His Eminence Metropolitan HILARION
of Eastern America and New York,
First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia

Your Eminence, Dear Vladyka! Christ is Risen!

On behalf of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, I express gratitude for your words of condolence on the untimely death of the Dean of Epiphany of the Lord Cathedral in Moscow, Protopriest Alexander Ageikin.

The premature death of Fr Alexander of blessed memory drew profound sorrow in the heart of His Holiness, as well as the hearts of many who knew him.

In his own message of condolence sent to the priest’s spouse and the clergymen of the cathedral, His Holiness Vladyka noted that the many clerics referred to Fr Alexander as “a remarkably sensitive and kind person, striving to support everyone who turned to him for help and consolation.”

His Holiness himself, by whose hands Fr Alexander was ordained to the priesthood, bore witness to the “earnest and fervent readiness of Fr Alexander to benefit the Church, with zeal and devotion serving God and mankind wherever he labored.”

May the All-Merciful Lord preserve Fr Alexander’s memory eternal and grant peace to all those who mourn now for the repose of the faithful servant of the Holy Church.

With love in the Risen Christ,

ANTHONY,
Head of the Directorate of Institutions Abroad of the Moscow Patriarchate
