SS Peter and Paul Church in Luxembourg celebrates its 90th anniversary

On Friday, July 12, 2019, SS Peter and Paul Church in Luxembourg celebrated its 90th anniversary. Heading divine services was His Grace Bishop Irenei of London and Western Europe along with His Grace Bishop Alexander of Vevey, Vicar of the Western European Diocese, and a host of clergymen from France, Switzerland and the USA, and attended by a large gathering of local and visiting worshipers. During the minor entrance of Divine Liturgy, Priest George Machtalere, parish rector, was granted by the Synod of Bishops the right to wear the gold pectoral cross.
At the reception that followed, a lecture was read on the history of this parish of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, and the work of the church's builder, Protopriest Sergei Poukh (+2016) of blessed memory.
