The Department of External Church Relations in Moscow hosts a meeting of the commissions on diocesan and parish life in the “distant abroad”
On December 20, 2018, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, the Department of External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate hosted a meeting of the joint commission on diocesan and parish life in the “distant abroad.”
The Moscow meeting was headed by His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, President of the DECR; participating were His Eminence Archbishop Mark of Berlin and Germany of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia; His Eminence Archbishop Antony of Vienna and Budapest, Head of the Department of Institutions Abroad of the Moscow Patriarchate; His Grace Bishop Ioann of Bogorodsk, Administrator of the MP parishes in Italy; His Grace Bishop Irenei of Richmond and Western Europe of ROCOR; Protopriest Nikolai Balashov, Vice President of the DECR; Protopriest Serafim Gan, Chancellor of the Synod of Bishops of ROCOR, and Protopriest Nikolai Artemoff, Secretary of the German Diocese of ROCOR.
Under discussion was the continuing cooperation in the fields of pastoral work in the dioceses and parishes of the countries outside of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
