His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III Blesses Nun Varvara (Novikova) in Her New Obedience

On Monday, August 7, 2017, His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem and All Palestine received Archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky), Chief of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, and Nun Varvara (Novikova), who in June of this year was appointed Acting Abbess of Ascension of the Lord Convent on the Mt of Olives in Jerusalem by the Council of Bishops of ROCOR. Offering paternal guidance to Mother Varvara over the course of a long discussion, His Beatitude then offered his patriarchal blessing to her in hew new service and gave her a pectoral cross.
