“Russian Diaspora” to Host a Meeting on “The Great Exodus”

The Union of the Descendants of the Russians of Gallipoli and the Memorial Foundation of the White Movement published an open invitation to a meeting, part of the “Russian Diaspora” cycle.

The guest speaker will be Andrei Andreevich Musin-Pushkin, who will read a lecture titled “The Great Exodus in the Memoirs of my Family.”

On November 11, 1920, Musin-Pushkin’s grandfather, Colonel Boris Nikolaevich Gonorsky, left Sevastopol with his family for unknown shores. He was a survivor of the Siege of Perekop and a comrade and friend of General Alexander Kutepov.

Thanks to the oral memoirs of Musin-Pushkin’s mother, the story of the terrible Crimean evacuation is revealed through the eyes of a 9-year-old girl. Irina Borisovna preserved every memory of the time until her very death. This story unfolds not only global events but the tiniest details which help contemporary understanding.

The meeting will be held on March 9, 2017, at Znamensky Church in Novospassky Monastery in Moscow.
