A Joint Meeting of the Russian Ecclesiastical Missions is Held in the Holy Land
On December 2, 2016, Holy Ascension Convent on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem hosted a joint meeting of the Russian Ecclesiastical Missions in Jerusalem of the Moscow Patriarchate and the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, presided over by His Eminence Archbishop Mark of Berlin and Germany, Overseer of the ROCOR Mission. On the agenda of the meeting was the planning of celebrations of the 170th anniversary of the founding of the REM, the 145th anniversary of the consecration of Holy Trinity Cathedral and the 200th anniversary of the birth of Archimandrite Antonin (Kapustin).
Also participating in the meeting were Chief of the ROCOR Mission Archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky) and the chief of the MP Mission, Archimandrite Alexander (Elisov).
This meeting extended the work of the first meeting of November 18 blessed by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.
That meeting was held in Sretensky Monastery in Moscow with the participation of Archbishop Mark; His Grace Bishop Antony of Bogorodsk, Head of the MP's Administration of Institutions Abroad; Archimandrite Alexander; Hegumen Varnava (Averianov), Representative of the Kurgan Diocese; Mr NN Lisovoy, Deputy President of the Imperial Palestine Orthodox Society, and Nun Susanna, Prior of St Mary Magdalene Convent in Gethsemane, Jerusalem.
