On Sunday, November 1, 2015, a panikhida in memory of the Russian prisoners of war held in Puccheim will be performed by His Eminence Archbishop Mark of Berlin and Germany with his monks and the clergymen of the Cathedral of the Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia in Munich. The “Russian cemetery” near Munich has the graves of 320 Russian soldiers held as prisoners in Germany during World War I. Of these, 310 are known by name, whose biographies are available on the website www.memorial.ru. The cemetery is only opened one day a year, during the Catholic “All Saints’ Day.”
