The 50 th Anniversary of the Glorification of St John of Kronstadt Will Be Celebrated on the East Coast of the US
Churches on the East Coast of the United States will be marking the 50 th anniversary of the glorification of St John of Kronstadt. The main celebration will take place at St John of Kronstadt Church in Utica, NY, the first church in the world dedicated to the Russian saint.
On Saturday, November 1, 2014, divine services will commence at St John of Kronstadt Church in Utica, NY, officiated by His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, along with His Grace Bishop Peter of Cleveland, Administrator of the Diocese of Chicago and Mid-America and His Grace Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan. At the Synodal Cathedral of Our Lady of the Sign in New York, a great Divine Liturgy will be celebrated with the singing of the Cathedral Choir under the direction of Peter Fekula. The rassa of St John will be presented for veneration.
With the blessing of Metropolitan Hilarion, His Grace Bishop John of Naro-Fominsk, Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes of the Moscow Patriarchate, will officiate at Divine Liturgy at St Seraphim Memorial Church of the Reestablishment of Unity within the Russian Orthodox Church in Sea Cliff, NY, on November 1 . Singing at the service will be the St Petersburg Men�s Ensemble. A rare relic, the kamilavka of St John of Kronstadt, will be available for veneration. The choir will then give a performance during the trapeza luncheon.
