On the afternoon of Monday, September 22, 2014, the main holy item of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God "of the Sign,” arrived in Holy Trinity Cathedral in Zheleznogorsk, Russia. It was greeted by His Grace Bishop Veniamin of Zheleznogorsk and Lgovsk, together with his clergymen and flock. The delegation of the Church Abroad bringing the icon is headed by His Eminence Archbishop Mark of Berlin and Germany. On Tuesday, September 23, the miraculous icon was taken to Kursk-Root Hermitage, where it will be made available to worshipers for veneration until September 25, when the tradition procession will be made with the icon to Znamensky Cathedral in the city of Kursk. On October 4, Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at the cathedral, after which the icon will depart from the Kursk Metropoliate.
