The Fifth Anniversary of the Reestablishment of Unity Within the Russian Orthodox Church is Celebrated in the Holy Land
On May 17, 2012, the fifth anniversary of the reestablishment of canonical unity between the Moscow Patriarchate and the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, Divine Liturgy was celebrated at Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission of the Moscow Patriarchate, led by His Grace Bishop Agapit of Stuttgart, who is making a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. He was joined by the Chief of the REM of the Moscow Patriarchate, Archimandrite Isidor, clergymen of the Mission and of the Russian Church Abroad on a pilgrimage from Germany.
Praying at Liturgy was the Chairman of the Financial Administration of the Moscow Patriarchate, His Grace Bishop Tikhon of Podolsk, who participated in a night-time Liturgy at the Holy Sepulcher of the Lord. Afterwards, Bishop Tikhon read the Epistle of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia on the fifth anniversary of the signing of the Act of Canonical Communion. Bishop Agapit and Bishop Tikhon then performed a moleben of gratitude to mark this event.
