Photo-Report on Divine Services on Passion Week and the Pascha of Christ in St Nicholas Convent
On April 15th, the Bright and Glorious Feast of the Resurrection of our Lord, at Saint Nicholas Monastery in North Fort Myers, Florida, more than a hundred people gathered to celebrate the Feast. Following the celebration, the blessing of red eggs, and the blessing of the artos, at 3:30 in the morning, approximately 50 pilgrims remained to break the fast with the sisters in the Monastery's trapeza. The Reverend Father Steven Webb of Dade City, Florida, was the main celebrant from Lazaros Saturday/the Annunciation through Pascha. From Tuesday through Thursday, he was joined by the Reverend Father Evgeny Antonov of Marietta, Georgia. The museum in the trapeza, managed by the Director of the Monastery's Library, Katherine Alderson, featured a new display of metalwork, including enameled crosses, icons, and portable Communion kits dating to the 1700’s; and a display of Orthodox handcrafts and beadwork made by the reposed handmaid of God, Thekla Korobko.
