Metropolitan Hilarion Meets With Archbishop Justinian of Naro-Fominsk
On Tuesday, July 13, 2010, His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, received His Eminence Archbishop Justinian of Naro-Fominsk, Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, at his residence at the Synod of Bishops in New York. During their meeting, which took place in a warm and gregarious atmosphere, Archbishop Justinian told of his pilgrimage to the uncorrupt relics of St John of Shanghai and San Francisco, kept at the Cathedral of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow" in San Francisco. He also discussed his archpastoral visit to St Nicholas Patriarchal Parish in the historic city, which was graced by the presence of both St John and St Tikhon, who later became the Patriarch-Confessor of Russia. The eminent hierarchs also discussed the results of the teleconference held by the Synod of Bishops earlier that day, and matters pertaining to the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the Russian Church Abroad in December of this year. Also present at the meeting were the Synodal Chancellor Protopriest Serafim Gan and Protopriest Evgeny Goncharenko, Secretary of the Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA.
