Over five thousand young believers will gather on May 22, 2010, at Moscow’s “Kreml’ v Izmailovo” Complex to participate in the 4th Orthodox Student Forum “Faith and Deeds.”

“This year, the emphasis of the Forum will be missionary work, how to find young leaders,” said one of the Forum’s organizers, Vadim Kviatkovsky, Executive Secretary of the Moscow Diocesan Council’s Youth Commission, at a press conference held at Interfax on Thursday.

The Forum will open with the celebration of Divine Liturgy, after which the participants will begin discussion forums and master classes. The Forum will concentrate on experience in youth ministry on the parish level, institutions of higher learning and missionary and social programs. “Faith and Deeds” will include 20 sections this year and will last for one week.

A youth delegation from the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia will participate in the discussion “Is it Easy to Be Orthodox in the West?” Deputy President of the Synodal Youth Department, Protopriest Andrei Sommer, reported that young parishioners from three dioceses of the Church Abroad will participate, including “children of third-wave immigrants and newly-converted Americans who participate in parish life of the Russian Church Abroad.”
