The Primate of the Russian Church Abroad Receives the Russian Consul General in New York

On Monday, March 15, 2010, His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion received Andrey Yushmanov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in New York. During the meeting, held in a gregarious atmosphere at the First Hierarch’s residence, His Eminence Vladyka Hilarion and Andrey Konstantinovich discussed the possibility of organizing an exhibition of ancient Russian icons at the Synod of Bishops headquarters, as well as other topics of mutual interest.  His Eminence gave the Consul General a copy of the film “The Light of God in His Eyes” in memory of Metropolitan Laurus, and “Under Thy Mercy,” on the veneration of the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God at Christ the Savior Cathedral in Moscow. These DVDs were published by St Seraphim Church in Sea Cliff, NY. Also participating in the meeting were Protopriest Serafim Gan and Constantine Stamos.
