The First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad Receives a Representative of the Orthodox Church in America
On Tuesday evening, March 10, 2010, Archimandrite Zacchaeus, Representative of the Orthodox Church in America to the Moscow Patriarchate, traveled to the main administrative building and official residence of the First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad in New York City to meet with His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York.
During the course of the meeting, His Eminence and his guest discussed many issues of mutual interest to the Orthodox Church in America and the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia including the upcoming Episcopal Assembly of canonical Orthodox Bishops in the United States that will be held in May of 2010.
In prayerful memory of the meeting, His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion was kind enough to present Archimandrite Zacchaeus with a copy of the Wonderworking Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos “Kurskaya-Korennaya.” In turn, Archimandrite Zacchaeus presented the Metropolitan with a DVD produced in commemoration of the 15th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Moscow Representation of the Orthodox Church in America and also a set of compact discs containing recordings of lectures, sermons and interviews by the ever-memorable Bishop Basil (Rodzianko).
Also participating in the meeting was the personal secretary to the First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church, Protopriest Serafim Gan.
