The 40th Day of the Repose of Bishop Ambroise (Cantacuzene) is Marked in the Church of Great Martyr Barbara

August 28, 2009, the feast day of the Dormition of the Most-Holy Mother of God, also marked the 40th day of the repose of His Grace Bishop Ambroise (Cantacuzene).

The festive Divine Liturgy and a pannikhida were performed in the Church of Great Martyr Barbara in Vevey, led by His Grace Bishop Michael of Geneva; he was joined in the services by Priest Adrian Echevarria, Protodeacon Peter Figurek and Protodeacon Michel Verna.

After the services, the clergymen and parishioners headed for the cemetery, where a funerary litany was performed over Bishop Ambroise’s grave.

Vladyka Michael also prayed over the grave of Princess Olga Cantacuzene, the mother of the late Vladyke Ambroise, located at the same cemetery.
