The Organizing Committee for the Trip To Russia of the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God Meets 

On May 13, 2009, the first meeting of the Organizing Committee for the trip to Russia of the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God took place in the Synodal building in New York. Participating were Protopriest Serafim Gan, President; Priest Alexandre Antchoutine and Deacon Nicholas Olhovsky, Secretary. The Committee members discussed the directive issued by their hierarchy on the practical aspects of organizing a “pilgrimage” to Russia of the Hodigitria of the Russian Diaspora, accompanied by a delegation of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia. The Committee’s proposals will be presented to the First Hierarch and the Synod of Bishops for review.
