The Choir Directors of the Synodal Cathedral in New York and of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow Meet

On Friday, February 9, Peter A Fekula, the Director of the Synodal Cathedral Choir met with SV Krivoboky, Director of the Choir of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow, in the office of the Senior Priest of the Cathedral, Protopriest Michael Ryazantsev.

They discussed the procedure of the ceremonial signing of the Act of Canonical Communion and the first joint celebration of the Divine Liturgy, to be performed by the Primates of both parts of the Russian Orthodox Church. This first Divine Liturgy will be antiphonally sung by both choirs. It is planned that the Fekula choir will be located at the left Imperial wing of Christ the Savior Cathedral on the day of the signing of the Act, while on May 19, it will participated in an antiphonal service at Uspensky Patriarchal Cathedral in Moscow's Kremlin together with the Sretensky Stavropighial Monastery choir of Moscow.

On Thursday, February 8, Priest Serafim Gan, the Personal Secretary of the First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, met with Archbishop Arseny of Istrinsk, Vicar of His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II, at the offices of the Moscow Patriarchate on Chisty Pereulok; along with Archimandrite Tikhon (Shevkunov); Protopriest Alexander Abramov; Protopriest Nikolai Balashov and Priest Vladimir Vitilyansky. Discussed during this meeting were logistical matters connected with the celebration surrounding the signing of the Act of Canonical Communion.
