His Eminence Metropolitan Christopher (Serbian Orthodox Church) officiates at celebrations of the namesday of Bishop Peter of Cleveland, Administrator of the Diocese of Chicago and Mid-America
On February 4, the feast day of the Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia, His Eminence Metropolitan Christopher officiated at Divine Liturgy at Holy Protection Cathedral in Chicago, along with Bishop Longin of Novo-Gracanica (Serbian Orthodox Church) and Bishop Peter of Cleveland. Among the clergymen serving were the Dean of the First Deanery, Protopriest Andre Papkov, the Senior Priest of the Cathedral; Protopriest John Sykaluk; Priest Jeremiah Loch; Priest Ilya Mrzev and Priest Valery Vovkovsky. Praying and partaking of the Holy Gifts during Divine Liturgy was His Eminence Archbishop Alypy of Chicago and Mid-America. After the service, Metropolitan Christopher, the hierarchs, clergy and a multitude of parishioners and worshipers continued their fraternal feast at a trapeza luncheon, during which they heard performances by the male choir of Holy Virgin Protection Cathedral, the Hierarchal Choir of the local Romanian Orthodox Church and a Serbian ensemble comprised of students from the local St Sava Serbian Seminary.
