Bishop Michael of Boston Made his First Visit to Bishop Evtikhii
of Ishim and Siberia
Archpastoral Visit to Siberia
The representative of the Synod of Bishops in Russia, Bishop
Michael of Boston, made his first visit to Siberia on 19-24
July. Besides Ishim, Bishop Michael also visited the rural
churches near Ishim, as well as Omsk, Voskresenka (with Hieromonk
Feofan), Shandrinsk and Chelyabinsk. Despite the fact that
Bishop Michael has visited the Russian Federation many times,
he acquainted himself with church life in the Siberian Diocese
for the first time, which made a great impression on him.
During trapeza he once said Grant God that all of Russia
is like Ishim. On Sunday, 21 July, on the day of the
Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, Bishop Michael served with
Bishop Evtikhii of Ishim and Siberia in the Cathedral of the
Epiphany in Ishim. Several priests from the Urals, Omsk and
Krasnoyarsk attended. A hierarchal service was also held in
Ishim on the feast day of St. Olga. Between the two services
there was a visit to Omsk.
