Alypy Serves for the First Time Since His Accident

Trinity parish in Milwaukee marks 50th Anniversary
Metropolitan Laurus arrived from Albany NY, where he had presided
over the 50th anniversary celebration of that parish, at Mitchell
Airport in Milwaukee on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002, and officiated
at all-nigh vigil service in Holy Trinity church.
On Sunday, 22 September, Metropolitan Laurus concelebrated
the Divine Liturgy with Archbishop Alypy of Chicago and Detroit,
who celebrated the Liturgy for the first time on this day
since his accident, along with Archimandrite Peter, Archpriest
John R. Shaw, Abbot Ioann, Fr. John Sykaluk, Protodeacon Victor
Lochmatow and Deacon Dimitri Kamolov.
During Hours, Pavel Akmolin was tonsured a Reader, and at
the Little Entrance, Fr. John Shaw was decorated with a jeweled
cross.
A reception for all followed, at the home of Walter and Irene
Skipper.
On Monday, 23 September, Metropolitan Laurus held a Pannikhida
at Forest Home Cemetery for departed parishioners of Holy
Trinity church, and inspected the new mosaics at St. Sava's
Serbian Orthodox Cathedral before returning to Jordanville.
