The
Parish of St Basil the Great Celebrates its 100th Anniversary
On September 12, on the feast day of SS Alexander Nevsky and Daniel
of Moscow, the Parish of St Basil the Great in Simpson, PA, gathered
in great numbers for the great spiritually-uplifting celebration
of their 100th anniversary. His Eminence Metropolitan Laurus officiated
at the solemn celebrations along with Mitred Protopriest John Sorochka,
Protopriest David Hritcko, Priest Dimitri Ermakov and Hieromonk
German (Ciuba), along with Protodeacon Victor Lokhmatoff, Deacons
Gregory Petrochko and Seraphim Chemodakov. During the minor entrance,
Deacon Gregory Petrochko, in accordance with a Synodal decision,
was elevated to the rank of protodeacon. The splendid trapeza offered
after the services was attended by over 400 people. Protopriest
David Hritcko has been the Parish Rector for many years, having
come over together with his flock to the Russian Orthodox Church
Outside of Russia in 1982. We offer the following photo-report on
