On Monday,
November 1, the clergy of the Southern Deanery of the Eastern American
Diocese met with Bishop Gabriel. The following clergymen, who had
also participated in the Conference of Southern Missions, attended:

Priest Onouphry
Keith, Rector of St Nicholas Church, Fletcher, NC;
Deacon John
Ganson of St Mary of Egypt Church, Atlanta, GA.
The meeting
provided the opportunity for the clergymen to converse with Bishop
Gabriel of Manhattan and with each other, which is very rare, since
in this Deanery, parishes and missions are widely scattered throughout
the southern states.
During the
morning session, the clergymen posed questions to Vladyka Gabriel
and expressed their opinion on issues relating to liturgical practice,
pastoral problems, the latest events in the life of our Church and
various ecclesio-administrative matters. During the discussions
it was decided to appoint Priest Mark Mancuso as the Secretary of
the Southern Deanery. The clergymen also decided to convene a retreat
and conference for the Southern Deanery during Great Lent next year,
to be held in Atlanta.
