Archbishop Peter of Chicago and Mid-America participates in feast-day celebrations at the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow” on Bolshaya Ordynka

On November 6, 2019, the Church honors the Icon of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow.” Divine services on this day were held at the Moscow church dedicated to this holy image located on Bolshaya Ordynka, where it is housed. His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, President of the Department of External Church Relations, celebrated Divine Liturgy, and was joined by a number of hierarchs including His Eminence Archbishop Peter of Chicago and Mid-America of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia.

Metropolitan Hilarion read the prayer for peace in Ukraine after the augmented litany, and later delivered a sermon.

A moleben was then performed before the holy icon.
