The Assistant Director of Orthodox Bethany School is ordained to the diaconate

On Tuesday, August 14, 2018, the Procession of the Precious Wood of the Life-giving Cross of Jesus Christ, Archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky), Chief of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, participated in the celebration of Divine Liturgy at the Holy Sepulcher of the Lord in Jerusalem.

With the blessing of His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem and All Palestine, Liturgy was headed by His Eminence Archbishop Aristarchos of Constantinos, General Secretary of the Holy Synod of the Jerusalem Patriarchate, and at the customary moment, Subdeacon George (Khadarya) Baramki was ordained to the diaconate.

During his sermon before the Holy Eucharist, His Eminence explained that the new deacon is a teacher and assistant director of the Orthodox Bethany School for Girls, which is under the auspices of the REM of ROCOR. The new Deacon George then thanked Fr Roman and Nun Martha, the Director of the school.

Fr George is married to servant of God Maria, a Russian Orthodox Christian, and was appointed to the Cathedral of St James, Brother of the Lord, located next to the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Jerusalem, where services are performed in Arabic.
