A tonsure to the rassophore at St Chariton Lavra

On Wednesday, July 4, 2018, before Divine Liturgy in the cave church of St Chariton Lavra in Fara, Archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky), Chief of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem of the Russian Church Abroad, tonsured novices Anatoly Zarudsky and Victor Holin to the rassa. Fr Roman gave Brother Anatoly the monastic name of Avenier after the King of India, and Brother Victor was given the name Cyprian in honor of St Cyprian, Metropolitan of Kiev, Moscow and All Russia. The newly-tonsured monks will serve with the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem and reside at Ascension of the Savior Convent on the Mt of Olives.
