Resolution of the Pastoral Conference of the Diocese of
Eastern America and New York

Illumined by the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God and the Myrrh-streaming Icon of Holy Righteous Anna, we, the clergymen of the Diocese of Eastern America and New York, gathered at the Church of the Nativity of the Most-Holy Mother of God in Albany, NY, for prayer and Eucharistic communion. At our Clergy Conference, held in a spirit of brotherly love, His Eminence Metropolitan Laurus heard the entire scope of opinions on the present process of reconciliation of our Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia with the Moscow Patriarchate. From the discussions of this topic, it is apparent that there are various points of view on this matter within our Diocese. Despite this, by the end of our discussion, the clergy unanimously expressed the willingness to be obedient to the forthcoming Council of Bishops. We cannot predict its final results. For this reason, we call upon our flock to pray in earnest to our Heavenly Father, so that His will alone be done. May our prayers be righted as spiritual incense, and may the Lord send down upon us Divine Grace and the Gift of the Holy Spirit.

We express our heartfelt thanks to our merciful father and First Hierarch, His Eminence Metropolitan Laurus, and His Grace Bishop Gabriel for their wise leadership of our Diocese and their fatherly care for us.

We raise our prayers of thanks to God, who allowed us to meet, to pray together and commune of Christ's Holy Mysteries on this feast day of the Holy Martyrs of Sebaste.
