His
Eminence Metropolitan Laurus Announces His November Schedule
On November 4, the feast day of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of
God, His Eminence will officiate at Divine Liturgy at Holy Trinity
Monastery, where Deacon Serge Ledkovsky will be ordained to the
priesthood. He will be assigned to the Memorial Church of St Vladimir,
Equal-to-the-Apostles and Illuminator of Russia, in Jackson, NJ.
Archbishop Averky (Taushev, +1976) of blessed memory celebrated
his namesday on that day, so the monastic brethren will conduct
a pannikhida for their former abbot. Archbishop Averky is laid to
rest in a crypt under the Cathedral altar.
On November 5-6, His Eminence will conduct services at the Church
of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow" in Atlanta,
GA, where the Southern Missions Conference of the Eastern American
Diocese is scheduled. His Eminence will chair the Conference and
will respond to questions.
On November 7-8, His Eminence Metropolitan Laurus will officiate
at services at Holy Trinity Cathedral in Jordanville during the
visit of the Sitka Icon of the Mother of God, which ends its travels
throughout the parishes of the USA.
On Sunday, November 20, the First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox
Church Outside of Russia will lead the celebrations of the 50th
anniversary of the clerical services of Protodeacon Eugene Burbelo
at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Sign at the Synod of Bishops
in New York.
On November 21, the feast day of Archangel Michael and the Heavenly
Hosts, His Eminence Metropolitan Laurus will perform Divine Liturgy
at Archangel Michael Church in Paterson, NJ, whose Rector is Fr
George Zelenin. This year marks the tenth anniversary of the death
of Bishop John (Legky), the rector of this parish for many years.
A pannikhida will be performed in his memory.
On November 27, His Eminence will officiate at Divine Liturgy at
Holy Transfiguration Cathedral in Los Angeles, CA, which will be
celebrating its 75th anniversary. The First Hierarch of the Russian
Orthodox Church Outside of Russia will be joined in the service
by His Eminence Archbishop Kyrill of San Francisco and Western America.
Protodeacon Victor Lokhmatov and Subdeacon NA Olhovsky will accompany
His Eminence on his archpastoral travels.
